TVXQ! kicked off their second Asian tour "O" at Seoul's Olympic Park Stadium on February 23, 2007. Asian Idol is a reality singing competition, which featured winners of Idol competitions from six Southeast and South Asian countries consisting of India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, and Vietnam. Part of the Idol franchise, it originated from the reality program Pop Idol created by British entertainment executive Simon Fuller, which was first aired in 2001 in the United Kingdom. The first season was won by Singapore Idol Hady Mirza, who was awarded an all-expense-paid trip around the world on business class, after almost two million votes were cast. The first season was held on 15 December and 16, 2007 in Jakarta, Indonesia. RCTI, was the main broadcaster, with the program shown live among participating countries.

Asian Charlie's Angels is a Taiwanese version of the successful 1970s American television show, filmed in Mandarin. Produced in 2004 and airing on ImaginAsian in the United States, the show stars Annie Wu as Annabelle, Kelly Lin as Cindy and Qu Ying as Betty. Christy Chung also appears in the film as Angie.

Karpolla on asiaa

Karpolla on asiaa was a popular Finnish television show with a journalistic touch. It was hosted by reporter Hannu Karpo and produced by his Pallosalama OY production company. The show ran from 1981 to 2007 on MTV3. The show also featured occasional appearances by Karpo's son, Sampo. The show's essential idea was that Karpo would report on the various things he saw wrong about Finnish society and have "the people's story heard" by reporting how certain people in Finnish society were suffering from public oversight and abuse, and were unable to do anything to resolve their predicament. Karpo would famously and openly award his interviewees with piece of smoked reindeer or an encased 100 mk bill for speaking out. A popular contest on the show was the recurring "Santa Claus of the Year"-contest during which a famous Finnish person posing as Santa Claus was interviewed by either Karpo or a small child, dropping hints as to the Santa's true identity with the Santa revealing his identity soon before or after Christmas Eve. The contest was not held in 2004 due to the show being on hiatus and instead a different contest was held in November.
